A BRIEF HISTORY
Based in Spalding, Lincolnshire, Fancy Frox is a first generation business that was founded in 2002 by Karen Povey. The business started out by hiring and selling evening dresses but has flourished over the last 14 years to encompass all things special occasion. At the time, prom and evening dress shops were far and few between and Fancy Frox was one of the first of its kind.
Over the years Fancy Frox grew and expanded and Karen along with her mother Geraldine made the business flourish.
In 2011, after 22 years in the Army, Karen's husband Danny joined the Fancy Frox Team.
Already offering prom & evening dresses, bridesmaid dresses, short occasion wear and mother of the bride outfits, Fancy Frox now expanded into wedding dresses and men's formal wear hire.
Fancy Frox continues to flourish and has earned a reputation for outstanding customer service.
OUR SERVICES
Deposit and swap - secure your dress with a small deposit and swap later should you prefer a new arrival. This really is the best of both worlds.
Dress exclusivity register - we will not sell the same dress twice to the same event, regardless of colour. We even, where possible, go as far as to include dresses that we believe are extremely similar in this promise. As far as we know, no other shop does this.
Price beat promise - to ensure value for money, we will beat any directly comparable and genuine quote by 5%. If you notice one of our dresses being sold for less elsewhere, then please let us know. We are committed to offering the very best possible price and providing value for money.
Alterations - we take full responsibility for any alterations needed and the work is carried out by one of the three seamstresses employed by Fancy Frox. Our seamstresses have a tremendous amount of experience working with evening and bridal wear and are in our opinion second to none.
Complimentary dress bag and bead check - all dresses that are purchased are given a free bead check and come with a free dress bag. Our dress bags are a genuinely free item and we do not inflate the price of the dress in order to cover this cost as we do not believe that they should be a chargeable extra. Any seamstress work required on a dress that is not an actual alteration is also done free of charge. This includes checking and repairing loose beads. We feel that every dress should leave the shop in perfect condition, after being checked by a seamstress and steamed.
